Most of my commissioned work is pet portraits and this one is of our lovely spaniel who unfortunately is no longer with us. His portrait hangs on our wall and it goes to events with me as a sample. I did this as a tribute to him after we lost him which gave me some comfort through the drawing process and still does as I can look at his handsome face with fond memories. Having had dogs myself I am very aware of how much our animals mean to us and try to capture each animal’s character in the portraits I do.
