“I started life as a commercial artist designing for ‘silk screen’ printing. After many years of not painting at all,  I came back eleven years ago and I now love to paint in two quite different styles, in my studio, from on site sketches and photographs. Much of my own imagination goes into each and every painting I do.  I use only  watercolour as I love the spontaneity and unpredictability of it. My latest work is a combination of the two styles i.e the very textured ‘splashing’ and the fine multi-layered technique of glazing. I love to paint distance and light, drawing the viewer into the painting to see different little detail every time they look at it. Atmosphere is everything to me and it is what I set out to achieve.”
